The GE 5500 Series Zoneline is the state of the art
in package terminal heat pumps. The stylish LED readout of the microcomputer
touch controls are combined with superior performance to maximize
guest comfort and efficiency. The fan motor system and the specially
designed cross flow blower deliver the quietest Zoneline ever. Zoneline
installation flexibility goes one step further with the addition of
a universal heater - a bank of 3 built-in heaters that provide various
outputs of electric resistance heat. The standard features on this

heat lockout above 46 degrees this heat pump is the most efficient
package terminal unit in the industry. The 5500 can also operate
the heat pump and resistance heat simultaneously to maximize guest
comfort. The two fan motor system with an indoor cross flow blower
also delivers the quieter operation. A new standard interface provides
CDC compatibility, as well as remote thermostat, and infrared sensor/doorswitch
compatibility. Units can also be ordered with an optional Internal
Condensate Removal system that helps dissipate water from the heat
pump operation. Simply put, the Zoneline 5500 Series is the best
PTAC money can buy.
Installation Options-The 5500 Series Zonelines
are designed for easy installation and offer a wide selection of
features and voltages to meet each zonal application. These units
have a universal back up heater that can operate from 15 - 30 amps.
The heater wattage of a given unit is determined by the power cord
that is plugged into the unit. Like other Zonelines the 5500 Series
may be installed flush to the finished floor to 3" from the
ceiling. They are compatible with Class 2 remote thermostat controls
and with 2 wire CDC or many energy management systems ( requires
RAKOIM ). Special order color matched architectural grills are also
available. An Internal Condensate Removal ( ICR ) option is also
available. ICR helps dissipate water generated by the heat pump
by depositing it over the warm indoor coils.
